The Opus Group is powering its next phase of global growth, welcoming Michael Coppock as Chief Operating Officer.
As we continue our expansion across international markets, Michael will take the reins of global shared services and operational strategy, overseeing systems, talent, legal, M&A integration, and technology infrastructure.
Michael brings an impressive background across global operations, M&A, finance, and law. During an 8.5-year tenure at Airbnb where he served as Director of Strategy & Operations and Chief of Staff to the Global Operations team, he built Global Operations’ first business operations function from scratch.
His leadership spanned scaling payments infrastructure, incubating new verticals like Airbnb Experiences, spearheading operational strategy for the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympic Games, and integrating early AI capabilities into operational workflows.
Before his time at Airbnb, Michael spent more than a decade in financial services and law, steering executive change initiatives at Charles Schwab, launching early mobile payments at Wells Fargo, and leading M&A deals at Jefferies, M&T Bank, and Credit Suisse. Michael previously practiced M&A and financing law at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, and Fried Frank.
